Key Responsibilities

• Provides individualized, holistic, and age-specific patient and family care using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Develops and adapts comprehensive, culturally appropriate plans of care in collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
• Serves as a patient and family advocate, encouraging participation in decision-making and upholding individual and family rights.
• Identifies and responds to patient and family educational needs through individualized education planning and adult-learning principles.
• Delegates and assigns care to other healthcare team members within their scope of practice and competency.
• Communicates and coordinates with healthcare team members and ancillary staff to expedite patient progress and optimize workflow.

Required Qualifications

• Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required.
• CPI or comparable crisis prevention certification required (must be an 8-hour course with at least half of the class completed in person).
• Minimum of 3 years of recent RN experience, with at least 2 years in a specialty area.
• BSN or ADN required.
• Experience in an Emergency Department with 50 or more beds required.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience managing complex, high-acuity, or high-risk clinical situations in a fast-paced emergency setting.
• Demonstrated ability to assess socio-cultural variables and adapt nursing interventions to meet diverse patient populations.
• Familiarity with interdisciplinary care coordination and patient care conference participation.
