Registered Nurse – Emergency Room

Contract (13 Weeks) | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30) | 36/48-Hour Weekly Option | Every Other Weekend Required | Holidays Required as Scheduled

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced Emergency Department setting serving all age ranges, from infant to geriatric populations
  • Manage a broad range of complex and varied patient diagnoses within a high-volume ED environment (Average Daily Census: 130; 47-bed unit)
  • Maintain a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio while delivering safe, timely, and effective emergency nursing care
  • Float within the Emergency Department specialty as required
  • Adhere to all scheduling requirements including every other weekend and holidays as they fall
Required Qualifications
  • Active RN license in Maryland or a valid Compact RN license at time of submission
  • Minimum 1 year of Emergency Room nursing experience (2 years preferred); first-time travelers with strong ER skills and experience will be considered
  • Current BLS certification – American Heart Association only
  • Current ACLS certification – American Heart Association only
  • Current PALS certification – American Heart Association only
  • NIH Stroke Scale certification and CPI certification (Calm Every Storm online version is the only acceptable online vendor)
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Two or more years of Emergency Room nursing experience in a high-volume or Level II/III ED setting
  • Comfort with floating within specialty scope and adaptability to varied patient acuity and diagnoses
  • Prior travel nursing experience, particularly within a comparable health system environment
