    Registered Nurse – Emergency Room

    Location

    Largo, MD | Acute Care

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | 13 Weeks | Full-Time | Onsite | 3x12-Hour Shifts, Mids (15:30–04:00) | Every Other Weekend Required | Expected 36 hours/week

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care in a high-volume emergency department serving all age ranges, including neonates
    • Manage and monitor patients presenting with chest pain, stroke, sepsis, cardiac arrest, trauma, respiratory illness, and respiratory arrest
    • Operate specialized equipment including Belmont rapid infuser in trauma, Giraffe warmer for neonates, and Lucas device for cardiac arrests
    • Maintain patient ratios of 1:4, up to 1:5 with lower-acuity patient groups, within a 46-bed ED with an average daily census of 140
    • Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic charting system
    • Float within the Emergency Room specialty as needed; holidays worked as scheduled
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Maryland RN license or Compact License at time of submission
    • BLS certification (AHA only)
    • ACLS certification (AHA only)
    • PALS certification (AHA only)
    • TNCC, NIH Stroke Scale, and CPI certifications required (CPI online version must be "Calm Every Storm" vendor)
    • Minimum 3 years of Emergency Room RN experience required; travel experience preferred, though first-time travelers with 5+ years of ED experience may be considered
    • Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (locals under 50 miles are not accepted unless otherwise specified)
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Prior travel nursing experience
    • Experience with high-acuity patient populations including trauma, cardiac arrest, and stroke
    • Familiarity with specialized emergency equipment such as rapid infusers and mechanical CPR devices
