Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (self-scheduling options including 9–9, 11–11, 1–1, and 3–3) | Every other weekend and every other holiday required | No call or standby requirement
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a high-volume emergency department seeing 80–90 patients per day, maintaining a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Assess, triage, and treat a diverse patient population including trauma, stroke, sepsis, CHF, and cardiac cases across 24 beds and 3 trauma bays
- Manage ER holds intermixed within the department, taking direct responsibility for hold patient care
- Interpret and monitor ECG rhythms independently, as no monitor technicians are on unit
- Collaborate with ED physicians, mid-level providers, charge nurses, house supervisors, nurse aides, paramedics, and patient sitters as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Float to other units as qualified when needed
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in good standing
- Minimum 2 years of emergency department experience
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications
- Current TNCC certification
- Current PALS or ENPC certification
- Proficiency with ECG rhythm interpretation
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working in a fast-track emergency department environment
- Familiarity with Paragon EMR
- Experience performing or assisting with phlebotomy draws
