    Registered Nurse – Emergency Room

    Location

    Lufkin, TX

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (self-scheduling options including 9–9, 11–11, 1–1, and 3–3) | Every other weekend and every other holiday required | No call or standby requirement

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care in a high-volume emergency department seeing 80–90 patients per day, maintaining a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
    • Assess, triage, and treat a diverse patient population including trauma, stroke, sepsis, CHF, and cardiac cases across 24 beds and 3 trauma bays
    • Manage ER holds intermixed within the department, taking direct responsibility for hold patient care
    • Interpret and monitor ECG rhythms independently, as no monitor technicians are on unit
    • Collaborate with ED physicians, mid-level providers, charge nurses, house supervisors, nurse aides, paramedics, and patient sitters as part of a multidisciplinary team
    • Float to other units as qualified when needed
    Required Qualifications
    • Active RN license in good standing
    • Minimum 2 years of emergency department experience
    • Current ACLS and BLS certifications
    • Current TNCC certification
    • Current PALS or ENPC certification
    • Proficiency with ECG rhythm interpretation
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience working in a fast-track emergency department environment
    • Familiarity with Paragon EMR
    • Experience performing or assisting with phlebotomy draws
