Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a 34-bed Emergency Department serving a mixed patient population
- Manage drips and titrations in accordance with unit protocols and patient acuity
- Maintain a 4:1 patient-to-nurse ratio while delivering safe, high-quality emergency nursing care
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately within the EPIC EMR system
- Float within the freestanding Emergency Department campus as needed
- Participate in required holiday coverage as determined by unit scheduling needs
Required Qualifications
- Active Iowa RN license or active Compact/Multistate RN license at time of submission
- Minimum 24 months of Emergency Room / Emergency Department nursing experience
- Must have completed a travel contract within the previous 18 months
- Active BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
- Active ACLS certification (AHA)
- Active PALS certification (AHA) and active TNCC certification
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required (may be obtained during onboarding)
- EPIC EMR experience required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Active de-escalation certification such as CPI, MAB, MOAB, or SAMA (willingness to obtain during onboarding is acceptable)
- Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months
- NIH Stroke Scale certification active and in-hand prior to start
