Key Responsibilities- Provide routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process — including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation — for assigned Emergency Department patients.
- Care for a diverse patient population including ED, trauma, medical, critical care, and pediatric patients.
- Administer medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitor for side effects and treatment effectiveness.
- Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with scope of practice.
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately and thoroughly.
- Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers; identify issues and connect with appropriate resources.
Required Qualifications- Active RN license in the state of TX or a compact state license.
- Current BLS certification (American Heart Association only).
- Current ACLS certification (American Heart Association only).
- Current PALS certification (American Heart Association only).
- Current TNCC certification.
- Minimum 1 year of Emergency Room nursing experience.
Preferred Experience / Skills- Moderate sedation competency.
- Experience with EPIC electronic health records system.
- Triage experience in an Emergency Department setting.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
