Key Responsibilities
Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients, documenting responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments, and noting all changes in physician orders.
Obtains and monitors physiological data, observes physiological manifestations, and intervenes when necessary; administers medications as prescribed and initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products.
Assists physicians during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments.
Performs phlebotomy, basic laboratory procedures, wound cultures, Point of Care testing, EKGs, and breathing treatments within scope of practice.
Educates patients and families on care plans, procedures, and discharge instructions; makes referrals to appropriate personnel as needed.
Delegates tasks to support staff and delivers patient care competently under general supervision.
Required Qualifications
Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC).
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Current ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Minimum of one year of nursing experience.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to respond effectively to the cultural and language needs of patients and visitors.
Preferred Experience / Skills
Two or more years of experience in an Emergency Department or Critical Care setting.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher from a Board Approved Program.
Proficiency in organizing, planning, coordinating, and evaluating nursing services.
