Contract (13 or 26 week options available) | Days (3x12 Hours, 7:00–19:00) | 36 or 48 hour weekly options | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care on a general medical surgical and telemetry unit serving patients with conditions including total knee and hip replacements, complicated orthopedic cases, pulmonary, sepsis, GI, endocrine, cardiac, renal, and psychiatric illnesses
Manage and monitor IV drips as required across all assigned floors
Care for patients with underlying behavioral health conditions, including those flagged as potentially violent (e.g., detox, dementia) on secured floors, utilizing safety and de-escalation techniques
Float within scope to meet facility staffing needs across multiple units, including potential float to an additional campus
Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams including CNAs, care techs, transport teams, paramedics, and LPNs where assigned
Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (pending Nebraska RN state license accepted; if not in hand at time of submission, start date will be booked six weeks out)
Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a large, urban hospital setting
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Proficiency with EPIC charting required
Ability and willingness to float frequently to various units to meet hospital staffing needs
Comfort caring for behavioral health patient populations, including those with violent or high-acuity behavioral presentations
Preferred Experience / Skills
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
Experience at a Level I Academic Medical Center (may be considered in lieu of travel experience for first-time travelers)
