Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a high-volume, 65-bed emergency department serving patients ranging from newborns to elderly across the full spectrum of acuity, including minor complaints and critically ill presentations
• Manage and titrate a wide variety of drips including vasopressors, cardiac medications, and antihypertensive agents
• Recognize and respond to life-threatening cardiac rhythms; interpret monitor readings using Philips monitoring systems
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including ED physicians, charge nurses, ED techs, respiratory therapists, and a 24/7 house supervisor
• Draw and collect lab specimens as needed in coordination with ED techs and phlebotomy
• Maintain active BLS, ACLS, ENPC or PALS, and TNCC or TNS certifications throughout assignment

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and either ENPC or PALS, and either TNCC or TNS
• Proficiency with vasopressor and cardiac drip titration
• Ability to independently interpret cardiac rhythms and recognize life-threatening arrhythmias
• Must comply with a drug-free workplace policy and produce a negative drug screen
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for standard contract rates

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Minimum 2 years of emergency nursing experience
• At least one prior travel nursing assignment
• SANE RN experience
• Experience working in a teaching hospital with resident physicians
