Job Title

Registered Nurse – Emergency Room

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care in a high-volume Emergency Department and Trauma unit serving approximately 250–300 patients per day
  • Manage a patient assignment at a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio across acute and subacute care areas
  • Perform and maintain competency in skills including Foley catheter insertion and port-a-cath insertion, adhering to strict sterile field technique
  • Monitor patients using telemetry (Philips monitors) and accurately interpret cardiac strips
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including physicians, mid-level providers, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy staff available 24/7
  • Float between multiple Emergency Department locations as needed, including free-standing ER sites within the region
Required Qualifications
  • Active RN licensure in good standing
  • Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Room experience, with at least 6 months in a Level 1 Trauma setting
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (ENPC is not accepted in place of PALS)
  • Proficiency with Cerner EMR
  • Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips
  • Must have personal transportation, as floating between facilities is required
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification
  • ATCN (Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses) certification
  • Experience with high-acuity trauma, psychiatric holds, and complex emergency presentations
