Registered Nurse – Emergency Room / Observation Unit (Level 3)

Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Rotating Shift Schedules including Days, Evenings, Nights, On Call, Call Back, Charge, Holidays, and Weekends as needed
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care to adult patients in a fast-paced Observation unit that turns over 20–27 patients per day with an average length of stay of 27 hours
Monitor and assess patients to determine whether their condition warrants hospital admission or safe discharge
Care for a diverse adult population including both emergency observation and admitted boarding patients ranging from short stay to full admissions
Collaborate with 24/7 provider coverage team to coordinate patient care and treatment plans
Float across designated units as required, adapting to varying patient acuity and care needs
Required Qualifications
Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license – NY license required
Minimum of two years of Medical/Surgical nursing experience
Telemetry experience required
BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) only
NIHSS certification required
ACLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) only
Preferred Experience / Skills
Prior experience in an Emergency Room or Observation unit setting
Demonstrated ability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced clinical environment
