Rockford, IL (with assignment to Freeport, IL location)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Evening/Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts | Weekend and Holiday Rotation Required

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members in the care of Emergency Department patients
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies, procedures, standards of care, and State practice acts
• Perform patient assessments, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care; develop and execute individualized patient plans of care
• Document patient care activities according to established standards of care
• Apply critical thinking regarding patient safety and experience, escalating concerns through the appropriate chain of command
• Participate in department performance improvement activities, unit practice decisions, and peer review processes

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required at time of submission
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• NIHSS certification required
• TNCC or TNS certification required
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; education verification required
• Prior experience working in an Emergency Department at a Level 1 Trauma Center

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience floating between multiple emergency department locations
• Demonstrated participation in shared governance or unit-based practice councils
