Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (Travel)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 36 Hours/Week Guaranteed | Every Other Weekend and Some Holidays Required

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide emergency nursing care to patients of all ages across a 21-bed emergency department including telemetry, behavioral health, and fast track areas
  • Manage IV access, IV drips, oxygen support, and blood product administration
  • Perform and interpret basic telemetry and EKG monitoring
  • Respond to and participate in resuscitation and trauma care activities
  • Assess and treat common emergency diagnoses including COPD, DKA, sepsis, cardiac emergencies, neurological emergencies, and stroke
  • Float to other units as needed and maintain a 1:5 patient ratio in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Required Qualifications
  • Active RN license with a minimum of 2 years of emergency nursing experience
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
  • Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications
  • De-escalation training certification (HWC, CPI, or MAB)
  • Proficiency with emergency equipment and Cerner EHR
  • Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify as a travel placement
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience in emergency medicine within a high-acuity or acute care hospital setting
  • Psychiatric or behavioral health emergency experience is a plus
  • Strong multitasking ability with a team-oriented, adaptable personality suited for a high-volume environment
