Key Responsibilities- Utilize the nursing process to perform direct patient care activities for all age groups, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes and comfort
- Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers and maintain professional accountability
- Coordinate patient care in conjunction with other departments while maintaining patient rights and confidentiality
- Function within the scope of nursing practice consistent with established guidelines, the Missouri Nurse Practice Act, and applicable standards of care
- Perform duties consistent with the physical demands of the role, including standing, walking, bending, stooping, and assisting with patient lifting and turning
Required Qualifications- Current RN license; must meet eligibility criteria for licensure in the state of Missouri or currently licensed in Missouri
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience (inpatient only); trauma experience required
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) only
- NIHSS and TNCC certifications required
- Flu vaccination (or facility-approved exemption) required for assignments running November 1 through April 1
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience working in a Level 2 Trauma Center environment
- Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical records system
