Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity Emergency Department serving a diverse patient population ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics, averaging 140–150 patients per day
Manage a broad range of emergency presentations including trauma, GSW, sepsis, STEMI, stroke, DKA, respiratory distress, chest pain, and adult psychiatric cases
Perform cardiac rhythm interpretation, IV access and management, medication administration including drips and cardiac medications, procedural sedation, and blood administration
Maintain patient ratios of 1:4, with potential flex to 1:5 for lower-acuity patients
Document accurately using Epic EMR; operate Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing system, and central/bedside telemetry monitoring
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary support team including ER techs, charge nurses, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, ED educator, security, and house supervisor — all available 24/7
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of Washington
Minimum 1 year of strong, recent Emergency Department experience
Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
Traveler Competency Exam (Traveler Telemetry Competency) must be completed and passed prior to start
Epic EMR proficiency required
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience in a Level II Trauma Center environment
Familiarity with Alaris IV pumps and Pyxis medication dispensing systems
Experience managing adult psychiatric patients in an ED setting
Comfort working in a high-volume, high-acuity receiving facility
