Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced Emergency Room setting serving a patient population ranging from pediatric to geriatric
Manage and assess patients presenting with diagnoses including respiratory conditions, chest pain, MI, STEMI, non-STEMI, stroke, and trauma-related injuries such as MVAs and fractures
Maintain a patient assignment ratio of 1:4 within a 40-bed unit with an average daily census of 30
Deliver safe, effective care to psychiatric patients within the ED, which may include up to 6 psychiatric patients at a given time
Float within scope to other areas of the facility as needed; travelers are expected to float first
Adhere to all facility compliance requirements including timely completion of onboarding documentation and required training modules
Required Qualifications
Active Maryland RN license or valid Compact RN license at time of submission
Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room RN experience required; first-time travelers accepted
Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications – American Heart Association (AHA) only
Current NIH Stroke Scale certification
CPI certification required – the Calm Every Storm online version is the only acceptable online vendor
Permanent address must be 50 or more miles from the facility location (locals under 50 miles are not accepted unless explicitly stated)
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience caring for psychiatric patients in an emergency department environment
Familiarity with stroke center protocols and TPA administration
Experience with cardiac and surgical patient populations including CCL cases
