Job Title: Registered Nurse I Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: Full-time Shift: Night shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in Emergency Room, preferably Trauma 1 License: Valid multistate or state Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS; ACLS required within 6 months of hire Must-Have: - Working knowledge of general disease state management processes, bio-psychosocial model, and clinical pathways. - Effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. - Ability to organize and prioritize work in an effective and efficient manner. - Ability to be detail-oriented as required in the examination of clinical and numerical data. Description: The Registered Nurse I assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care. This is done utilizing the nursing process in accordance with hospital standards and unit policies and procedures. The purpose is to monitor and evaluate patient functional status. Responsible for assessing, organizing, and completing patient care. This is done with consideration for patient age, cultural, and psychosocial factors. Documents steps of the nursing process accurately and utilizes proper medical terminology. Addresses problems and tracks progress toward goals. Facilitates patient discharge through timely and appropriate referrals. Utilizes patient education resources suitable for patient age and cultural/psychosocial factors. Collaborates with other disciplines as appropriate. Supports unit and hospital goals through performance improvement and educational activities. Attends in-services, meets unit education standards, and completes variance reports. Works independently in planning and making minor decisions in a complex technical or professional field. Engages directly with patients and/or customers. Interacts with internal customers via telephone or face-to-face. Works collaboratively with other healthcare professionals and staff.
