Job Title

Registered Nurse – Emergency Room

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide emergency nursing care in a high-volume ER seeing approximately 200 patients per day across 52 beds and 4 trauma bays
  • Manage patient ratios of 1:5 for medical patients and 1:6 in the fast track area (6 dedicated fast track beds)
  • Independently read and interpret telemetry in addition to support from monitor technicians
  • Administer and monitor ICU-level drips for hold patients, coordinating with ICU staff as needed
  • Accompany critical patients during transport to dedicated in-unit CT and X-ray
  • Participate in a shared schedule with a freestanding ER location approximately 15 minutes away; floating is typically scheduled in advance
Required Qualifications
  • Active RN license with a minimum of two years of Emergency Room experience, including Trauma Level I or Level II experience accumulated within the past two years
  • Epic EMR proficiency required; must have used Epic within the last five years
  • Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Ability to work rotating shifts with varied start times (7a, 10a, 11a, 12p, 1p, 3p) including a minimum of 4 weekend shifts per 4-week block and approximately 2 holiday shifts per holiday cycle
  • Must comply with a 100-mile radius rule for the duration of the contract
  • No more than 5 days of requested time off; no blocked scheduling requests
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification preferred
  • Experience working in a STEMI and Stroke receiving facility
  • Familiarity with ICU-level drips and ventilator management (Hamilton and Philips vents, Glidescope)
