Key Responsibilities
Provide emergency nursing care in a high-volume ER environment treating approximately 200 patients per day across a 52-bed department with 4 trauma bays and 6 fast track beds
Manage patient ratios of 1:5 (medical) and 1:6 (fast track), including care for holds requiring ICU-level drips
Read and interpret own telemetry monitoring in coordination with available monitor techs
Accompany critical patients during CT or X-ray transport as needed; dedicated CT and X-ray are located within the ER
Float on a shared schedule to a freestanding ER location approximately 15 minutes away; floating is typically scheduled in advance with infrequent last-minute requests
Maintain required certifications including BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS throughout the duration of the assignment
Required Qualifications
Active RN license valid in the state of Arizona
Minimum of two years of ER experience with Trauma Level I and/or Level II experience, accumulated within the past two years — Level III, Critical Access Hospital, or lower trauma experience does not meet this requirement
Active BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required
Epic EMR proficiency required; must have used Epic within the last 5 years
No more than 5 days of requested time off; no blocked scheduling requests
Must live at least 100 miles from the facility to be eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
TNCC certification preferred
Experience with ICU-level drips and critical patient management in an emergency setting
Familiarity with STEMI and stroke receiving protocols
Experience working in high-volume trauma environments with varied acuity levels
