They ensure that patients, families, and significant others receive individualized high-quality, safe patient care. The position supports a clinical environment administered by Nurse Managers and is structured by a shared governance model. Practices are guided by a professional practice model and evidence-based research. RN competencies are derived from these models and support core values. All RN Clinical Nurses are expected to be licensed, knowledgeable, and uphold the practice of nursing as outlined by the relevant Professional Nurse Practice Act. The RN is responsible for implementing the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards. A focus on the voice of the patient and adherence to system policies is essential. The RN must provide relationship-based patient-centered care that considers specific characteristics such as age and disease. Collaboration with patients and significant others is essential in care delivery. Evidence-based practices are used in the performance of clinical care.
