Job Summary
Endoscopy Lab, Madison, WI A healthcare provider is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to support their Endoscopy Lab. The role involves providing care during gastrointestinal and bronchoscopy procedures, including administering sedation and managing patients pre- and post-procedure. The position requires recent experience in sedated GI and pulmonary procedures, with a focus on patient safety and clinical excellence.

Job Details

• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, WI RN or compact RN license
• Education and Experience: 2 years of recent experience in inpatient acute care within the last 3 years in the specialty being submitted to
• Location Requirements: Must be able to work in Madison, WI; travel experience required
• Schedule: Days, 8-hour shifts, minimum 40 hours per week
• Additional Responsibilities: Provide care for patients during GI and Bronchoscopy procedures, administer sedation, manage airway, oversee recovery phases including PACU/Phase I and Phase II. Must be willing to perform bedside procedures such as airway management, balloon dilators, electrocoagulation, and monitor sedation within targeted ranges based on Ramsay Sedation Scale.
• Technical Skills: Administration of conscious sedation, airway management, use of specialized equipment (e.g., EBUS, ERCP, EGD, colonoscopy tools), interpretation of dysrhythmias, starting IVs, and clinical documentation using Epic system.
• Testing and Certification: Must pass telemetry test prior to start, with a strict passing criteria including identification of lethal rhythms and correct responses to heart block questions. Two attempts will be allowed; failure to pass after three attempts requires submission of a cardiac interpretation review course certificate.
• Additional Information: Role involves working in a high-acuity environment requiring bedside procedures, telemetry monitoring, and adherence to strict clinical protocols. Travelers will be required to float as needed, with a within 50-mile local rule.
