The role covers both:
Outpatient Endoscopy Center
Main Hospital Endoscopy Unit
Main Responsibilities
Coordinate inpatient and outpatient procedures
Complete pre-admission nursing assessments
Prepare patients for procedures and provide post-procedure care
Assist physicians during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
Provide equipment and supplies for procedures
Monitor and document patient condition
Educate patients and families
Maintain equipment and a clean/safe procedure environment
May function as a charge nurse
May supervise LPNs, endoscopy technicians, aides, and patient access representatives
Requirements
Current NYS RN license – Required
BLS – Required
ACLS – Must obtain before completion of introductory period
Previous hospital aide or LPN experience is listed as the experience requirement
Strong verbal and written communication skills
