Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse (RN) – Endoscopy / Procedural Sedation – Wisconsin
Start Date: October 26, 2026
Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 8-hour shifts with rotating start times between 6:30 AM and 10:30 AM. Day/evening coverage with weeknight call requirement. May need to stay past scheduled end time to complete the day's procedures. Daily census of 20-25 procedures across 4 procedure rooms.
Highlights:
- Provide care during GI and pulmonary procedures including ERCP, EUS, EGD, colonoscopy, endoscopy, and bronchoscopy
- Administer and monitor moderate sedation using an RN-driven assessment approach based on Ramsay Sedation Scale scoring
- Manage patients across all levels of care including pre-procedure, intra-procedure, PACU Phase I, and Phase II recovery
- Work with adult and geriatric patient populations in a Level 1 Academic Trauma Center environment
- Epic EMR system utilized facility-wide
- 20 hours of orientation provided; floating to other units as needed
Requirements:
- Active Wisconsin RN license or compact state license (pending Wisconsin license accepted with submission)
- Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in acute care setting within the last 3 years
- Recent experience recovering sedated GI and pulmonary procedures required
- Level 1 Academic Trauma Center or similar size hospital experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Current ACLS and BLS (AHA) certifications required
- Must pass telemetry competency exam prior to start (80% passing score required; 100% accuracy on lethal rhythms and third-degree heart blocks)
- Proficiency in administering conscious sedation, airway management, IV initiation and maintenance, and dysrhythmia interpretation
- Experience with Propofol, Versed, opioid analgesics, and reversal agents
- Ability to obtain 12-lead EKG/ECG and perform bedside procedures in high-acuity settings (ICU, ED)
- Must reside 50 miles or more from the facility
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
