Job Title: Endocrine Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Endocrinology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours (08:30 - 17:00) Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in the specialty required License: Current state license required Certifications: BLS required; Chemo certification preferred; OCN preferred Must-Have: - Endocrine experience - Patient diagnosis experience, including diabetes and thyroid disease - Competency in vital signs, medication reconciliation, and patient teaching Description: The position is for an outpatient Endocrine Registered Nurse. The facility consists of 5 patient rooms with a daily census of approximately 30 patients. Pharmacy services are available onsite. Documentation is managed through the EPIC electronic health record system. SBAR communication is expected for effective collaboration. Caribbean blue scrubs are required and not provided by the facility. First-time travelers are not accepted for this position. Special procedures performed include thyroid biopsies, 24-hour urine collections, and medication teaching. Skills required include obtaining vital signs, pain assessments, and recording patient health histories. Experience in blood glucose monitoring and subcutaneous medication administration is also necessary. Additional responsibilities include preparing charts, managing referrals, and handling pharmacy-related calls. The position requires adherence to universal precautions and proper biohazard waste disposal. The role entails conducting follow-up phone calls and reviewing imaging results and medication refills. Preferred skills include intravenous infusions, scheduling appointments, and contact tracing. Candidates must possess essential nursing skills to support patient education and treatment plans. Experience in insurance verification and venipuncture is advantageous.
