Operating Room First Assistant (ORFA) in Laguna Hills, California. Job Details
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting on 08/24/2026.
- Required Qualifications: Certifications include ACLS* and BLS, with a minimum of 0 years of experience. Candidate must have current California license and Nursys verification pulled within the last 2 weeks.
- Preferred Qualifications: Prior operating room experience in a hospital setting, familiarity with EPIC documentation system, and ability to assist in a wide range of surgical procedures including orthopedic, gynecological, colorectal, and robotic surgeries.
- Responsibilities: Assist in surgical procedures involving laparoscopic, robotic, and conventional techniques; ensure aseptic techniques are maintained; manipulate tissues and sutures; handle sterile equipment and instruments; assist with case cart setup; and support documentation processes.
- Additional Information: The position may require floating within hospital units based on census. Candidates accepted as locals at the lower break rate and must present RTO requests at time of submission. Modules such as EPIC training (approximately 8 hours) and other necessary certifications are completed pre-start and during orientation.
Note: The facility adheres to a minimum hourly wage requirement of $25 for the city of Long Beach.
