Job Summary: Medical Surgical Float Nurse in New Mexico. This position involves providing general medical-surgical nursing care on a inpatient general medsurg unit, with occasional non-critical pediatric patients. The role requires flexibility for floating duties and call responsibilities during night shifts.
Job Details:
Schedule: Nights, 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., with a minimum of 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications: valid nursing license, CPR certification, at least 2 years of experience in medical-surgical nursing, BLS certification; ACLS and PALS are preferred
Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) required; ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) preferred
Location Requirements: candidates must be registered with the state of New Mexico for fingerprint processing, which can take several weeks
Experience: no minimum experience required beyond the 2+ years specified for the role
Duration: 13 weeks initially, starting 08/10/2026
Scope of role: General medications and non-critical pediatric patient care, occasional float duties, no on-call schedule except for census flex prior to shifts, no guaranteed hours
