Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

Join our Float Pool as a Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical/Surgical Telemetry. This position requires the ability to float between multiple units within the hospital, providing comprehensive nursing care to diverse patient populations.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor cardiac patients and interpret telemetry strips every four hours.
• Administer cardiac drips and manage medication for assigned patients.
• Care for patients in various settings, including emergency and acute mental health units.
• Provide nursing care to non-vented patients who are ready for transfer from the ICU.
• Participate in the rotation of shifts, including days, evenings, and nights as needed.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of acute care hospital experience.
• 2 years of experience as a Traveler Nurse is preferred.

Skills and Qualifications

• Telemetry monitoring proficiency, including measuring intervals and interpreting telemetry strips.
• Experience with TR Band and cardiac drips.
• Active Massachusetts RN license and certifications in AHA BLS and ACLS.

Patient Population

Work with patients in need of immediate medical attention across various departments, ensuring a high standard of care is maintained throughout the hospital.

Additional Information

• Flexible scheduling with 36 hours per week including rotating weekends.
• Clinician to patient ratio: Days and Evenings up to 5:1; Nights up to 6:1.
• Utilize the EPIC electronic medical record system for charting.
