Registered Nurse (RN)

This is a float pool position requiring candidates to be willing to float to multiple units. Candidates must possess acute care hospital experience.

Position Information

• Role: RN
• Specialty: Med/Surg Tele – IMC (Floating to all Medical, Surgical, and Cardiology units)
• Shift: Day shift (0700 – 1930)
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 48
• Weekend Hours: Varies based on unit needs
• Call Requirements: No
• Years of Experience: 2 years inpatient hospital experience preferred; Level 1 Trauma experience required; 1 year travel experience required
• Float Requirements: Must float every shift

Education & Certifications Required

• Valid RN License: State of Maine
• ACLS: Preferred
• BLS: Required
• Education Modules: Assigned by the Education Department during Day 1 Onboarding

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: Varies based on the unit floated to (15 - 40+ beds)
• Patient Ratios: Typically 1:4 on days and 1:5 on nights (with possible stretching)
• Equipment: Abbott Plum Pumps
• EMR: EPIC

Hiring Profile

• Must Have Skills/Experience: 2 years Level 1 Trauma acute hospital experience; ability to read and interpret telemetry strips
• Preferred Skillset/Experience: Minimum 1 year travel assignments; prefer 2 years experience
• Type of Patients: Varies based on the unit floated to
• Personality Fit: Flexibility is essential

Dress Code

• Scrub Color: Any color, as long as it is clean and professional
• Unacceptable Attire: Jeans, t-shirts, open-toed shoes, and shoes with holes (such as Crocs)

Miscellaneous Information

Minimum 1 year travel or prior Float Pool experience is beneficial. Candidates must have Level 1 Trauma experience in a facility with 500 beds or larger.
