Job Summary Pediatric Float Nurse Location: unspecified. This role involves providing specialized pediatric nursing care within a designated women and children's unit. The position offers coverage for patients aged 0-17 years with a focus on delivering safe, quality care in a dynamic environment.
Job Details
Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, Location Requirements, and Years of Experience: BLS and PALS certification are required; a minimum of 2 years of inpatient Pediatric experience is necessary.
Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
Float: Float rotation may be required.
Responsibilities include providing care to patients in a women & children's unit, with potential float to NICU to support Eat, Sleep, Console or feeder/grower assignments, depending on competence and comfort level.
The unit accommodates patients from birth to 17 years old, including those requiring respiratory support, general surgery, limited orthopedics, diabetics, general medical diagnoses, and outpatient infusions.
Care involves patient assignments typically 3-4:1 depending on acuity, with core staffing of 6 RNs and 2 LNAs per shift.
Medical oversight is provided by Pediatric Hospitalists, who also oversee the Emergency Department.
Clinical documentation is completed via EPIC electronic medical records, and staff utilize hospital-issued scrubs.
