Requirements:

  • Active RN license in the practicing state.
  • BLS required; ACLS preferred or required depending on facility.
  • Prior experience in endoscopy, GI lab, PACU, or procedural nursing preferred.
  • Strong assessment, IV skills, and ability to monitor sedation.
  • Excellent communication, critical-thinking, and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for endoscopic and special procedures, including assessments and education.
  • Assist physicians during procedures such as EGD, colonoscopy, bronchoscopy, ERCP, and other interventions.
  • Monitor patient vital signs, sedation levels, and safety throughout the procedure.
  • Administer medications and moderate sedation per protocol.
  • Provide post-procedure recovery care and discharge instructions.
  • Maintain equipment, ensure proper infection control, and uphold safety standards.
  • Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately.
