Job Title: Hospice Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Hospice RN Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 32 Experience: Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience, preferably in hospice, home health, or palliative care License: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license Certifications: Current BLS Certification Must-Have: - Strong clinical assessment skills - Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills - Compassionate demeanor and ability to support patients and families during difficult times - Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required for home visits - Able to respond within 45 minutes to patient needs when on call Description: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Hospice Registered Nurse (RN) to join our interdisciplinary team. The RN will provide skilled nursing care and support to terminally ill patients and their families in accordance with the patient's plan of care and hospice philosophy. Key responsibilities include performing comprehensive assessments of patients' needs and coordinating individualized care plans. Providing pain and symptom management consistent with the hospice plan of care is essential. Education and support for patients and families regarding the disease process, self-care techniques, end-of-life issues, and the hospice philosophy will be provided. Collaboration with an interdisciplinary team including physicians, social workers, chaplains, and volunteers is required. Participation in on-call rotation is necessary, with the expectation to cover 1-3 shifts per week, including weekends during the contract period. Timely and accurate documentation in compliance with state and federal policies is expected. Experience with hospice software is preferred.
