Hospice Registered Nurse (RN) opportunity available in Suffolk, Virginia. This position involves providing comprehensive hospice care to geriatric patients, including managing symptoms, assisting with end-of-life care, and supporting patient and family needs. The role requires timely communication and documentation, with an emphasis on cultural awareness and compassionate care.
Job Details
- Shift Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, with a minimum of 40 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: 1 year minimum experience in hospice or home health care, Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), current active license in Virginia, and the ability to effectively communicate and document in a timely manner
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with OASIS documentation for Start of Care (SOC), proficiency in Homecare Homebase (HCHB) electronic charting system, and prior hospice or home health experience
- On-Call Requirements: On-call rotation may be required; responsibilities to be discussed during interview
- Additional Information: The candidate must have an active driver's license and personal transportation. One day of orientation is scheduled on Monday. All travelers are required to have a valid driver's license and submit requested time off at the time of application. Former permanent employees must be separated for at least six months before returning as travelers. Modules are billable and will be completed during orientation.
