Registered Nurse - Palliative Care
Location: Carmichael, California
Start Date: 05-27-2026
End Date: 08-26-2026
Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, up to every other weekend, rotating holidays
Hours per Week: 40
Roles & Responsibilities
- Develop daily patient lists and review charts to ensure top-notch care
- Assess patient needs and open meaningful goals of care discussions
- Educate patients and families on disease processes, advance directives, and POLSTs
- Facilitate family meetings and provide compassionate end-of-life support
- Attend daily rounds to collaborate with the interdisciplinary team
- Manage a caseload of 5-6 new patients and 3-4 follow-ups daily
Education
- RN degree from an accredited nursing program
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong acute care background and clinical thinking
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Flexibility and a genuine desire to serve patients, families, and team members
- Proficiency with Cerner EMR
