Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) registered nurse position in a hospital setting. This role involves managing critically ill adult and geriatric patients, including those with ARDS, respiratory distress, and post-cardiac surgery patients. The position requires the ability to perform complex clinical procedures in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, and advanced patient care.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid Kansas (KS) or Compact Registered Nurse (RN) license; 2 years of ICU experience; BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale), CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certifications in hand at time of submission.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Epic electronic charting system, prior ICU or trauma level II experience, familiarity with open heart and CRRT protocols, ability to manage multiple ventilated patients, and handling complex procedures such as arterial line management, intra-aortic balloon pump, and hypothermia protocols.
• Additional Information: The unit is a specialized ICU/CVICU mixed environment serving adult and geriatric patients, with a daily census of approximately 13 patients. Candidates must be comfortable with managing multiple complex cases including cardiac, stroke, and respiratory distress; must be able to perform critical procedures such as chest tube insertion, port management, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips. Floating to similar units as needed is required. Orientation includes 12 hours of training, and modules are completed onsite during orientation.
