Job Description:

The Registered Nurse in the Cardio Vascular ICU provides specialized care to patients with complex cardiovascular conditions. The role requires expertise in critical care and cardiovascular treatment protocols.

Responsibilities:

• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and multi-system organ failure
• Thermoregulation and management of CABG, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump, and Impella
• Care for post-cardiac surgery patients (not directly from OR) and pre/post cardiac cath interventions
• Manage pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring, valve replacement/repair, LVAD/RVAD, and CVVHD/CRRT
• IV therapy, medication administration, and management of ventilated patients
• Assist with CPAP, BiPAP management, and perform suctioning and ventilator management
• Ensure infection prevention, isolation precautions, and phlebotomy
• Care for surgical wounds with drains/wound vac

Requirements:

• 3 years CV ICU experience and passing of EKG test required
• Active IL license, CPR, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
• EPIC experience and skills in CV ICU care
