This role involves supervising nursing staff, conducting assessments, and participating in patient discharge planning, all within a safe and collaborative setting.
Job Details
Position Description: The ICU RN maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed. Responsibilities include supervising Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees. The RN performs nursing assessments within 8 hours of admission, develops individualized care plans, and participates in patient rehabilitation programs. Accurate and timely documentation is required to support patient safety and care continuity.
Required Qualifications: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification, valid ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) Certification, and a minimum of 2 years of bedside clinical experience in an ICU setting. This position is located in the ICU specialty and requires successful completion of an orientation period.
Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
Additional Information: The RN initiates discharge planning from the day of admission and provides patient and family education to support health goals. Leadership responsibilities include providing direction and supervision to ancillary staff, participating in team building, and contributing to a positive work environment. The candidate must actively pursue professional development and maintain effective communication with the care team.
