Job Summary:
The organization is seeking an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) nurse for a night shift position at a healthcare facility located in Asheville, North Carolina. This role involves providing specialized nursing care to patients after neurosurgical procedures and stroke treatments, with a focus on neurology post thrombectomy and TPA patients, as well as post Neurosurgery care. The position offers the opportunity to work in a unit equipped with advanced technology and staffed by experienced professionals committed to delivering high-quality patient care.

Job Details:

  • Location: 509 Biltmore Avenue, Asheville, North Carolina
  • Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Valid certifications in ACLS and BLS; ICU nursing experience with at least 3 years of overall nursing experience; preferred experience in neurology, specifically with post thrombectomy and TPA patients, as well as post Neurosurgery patients.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Neurology experience highly preferred, including advanced skills in caring for patients with neurological procedures such as bedside EVD placements, bedside external ventricular drains, A-line monitoring, and continuous renal replacement therapy.
  • Float Policy: Travelers will float first to other intensive care units or to step-down units as needed.
  • Additional Information:
    • Must be familiar with equipment such as Baxter pumps, CRRT, and electronic medical records system Cerner.
    • The unit emphasizes teamwork and provides a supportive environment with experienced staff and new equipment or technology.
    • Dress code required: Navy Blue uniform.
    • Unit policies and guidelines will be provided upon assignment.
    • No. of Positions: 1 (contractor replacement).
