The shift is scheduled for nights, with a 3x12-hour shift pattern, every other weekend, and as needed for holidays. The unit provides a dual level of care covering telemetry, progressive care, and intensive care, with a focus on critical cases such as strokes, respiratory failure, chest pain, and sepsis.
