Job Summary:
This is a travel ICU Registered Nurse (RN) position located in Carlsbad, New Mexico. The role involves providing comprehensive patient care in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) setting. Candidates are required to bring their nursing license on the first day of assignment. The position starts on July 20, 2026, and is scheduled for 12-hour days from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM, with floating responsibilities to ER and Med Surg departments.

  • Schedule: Days, 12 hours shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: 2+ years ICU experience, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), current license; ER & Med Surg experience required.
  • Preferred Qualifications: TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) and experience with ventilators, titratable drips, medication mixing, and patient hygiene.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required. Nurses help with activities such as answering call lights, passing medications, transporting patients, starting IVs, and blood draws when floating to ER; when floating to Med Surg, they may take a full patient assignment of up to 6 Med Surg patients or act as an aide for up to 12 patients.
  • Additional Information: The nurse will perform ICU patient total care, including ventilator management, titratable drips, and hygiene. No call is required. Fingerprints for all New Mexico travelers are required.
