Job Summary
Seeking an experienced Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse to provide high-quality, compassionate care to critically ill patients in a fast-paced acute care setting. The ideal candidate will have strong critical thinking skills, the ability to manage complex patient conditions, and experience collaborating with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive nursing care for critically ill and high-acuity patients.
Perform ongoing patient assessments and continuously monitor vital signs and clinical status.
Administer medications, blood products, and specialized therapies in accordance with physician orders.
Operate and monitor critical care equipment, including cardiac monitoring and life-support devices.
Recognize and respond rapidly to changes in patient condition and medical emergencies.
Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes.
Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and recovery expectations.
Adhere to hospital policies, infection prevention standards, and patient safety protocols.
Unit Highlights
ICU staffing ratio typically 2:1, with occasional 3:1 assignments based on patient acuity.
Travelers should be comfortable floating to the Emergency Department to care for admitted hold patients when needed.
May occasionally care for medical-surgical patients with assignments up to 5:1, depending on staffing and census.
Collaborative environment focused on delivering high-quality critical care.
Requirements
Active Oklahoma RN License or Compact RN License (must be active at the time of submission).
Minimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience required.
Floating to other appropriate units as needed is required.
Current BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and PALS (AHA) certifications required.
Strong critical care assessment, emergency response, and clinical decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Scheduling Expectations
Night shift: 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM.
36 guaranteed hours per week.
Required to work 5 weekend days within each 6-week scheduling period.
No on-call requirement.
All pre-employment compliance requirements must be completed at least one week prior to the assignment start date.
