Job Summary An ICU (Intensive Care Unit) Registered Nurse is needed in a healthcare facility. This role involves providing complex patient care within a combined acuity unit that includes ICU, Progressive Care Unit, and Medical Surgery patients. Responsibilities include bedside care, monitoring, and responding to patient needs in a high-acuity environment.
Job Details
Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
Required Qualifications: Valid license to practice as an RN, current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications, at least 2 years of ICU experience, and the ability to take and pass a dysrhythmia exam.
Additional Information: The unit admits patients with diagnoses such as sepsis, respiratory arrest, COVID-19, post-op complications, and other critical conditions. The nurse must be skilled in titrating drips such as sedation, vasopressors, and insulin and be capable of managing high-acuity patients with support from RT equipment including vents, BiPap, and Cpap. RNs are responsible for reading strips, taking 12-lead EKGs, and monitoring ICU patients on bedside cardiac monitors. Float requirements include supporting adult MST and pediatric units, with a two-hour notice for float shifts.
Charting System: Cerner.
Certificated personnel will attend hospital and unit orientation.
The role involves weekend, holiday, and standby rotations to ensure coverage and proper staffing.
