ICU Travel Nurse Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,850–$1,950
• Location: Easton, Maryland
• Healthcare Setting: 10-bed adult and geriatric Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
• Start Date: October 19, 2026
• Contract Length: 16 weeks
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12-hour nights
• Shift Hours: 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours
• Patient Ratio: Typically 1:2, with occasional assignments of up to 1:3 for lower-acuity patients
• Average Daily Census: 8 patients
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Holidays as scheduled
• Call: Not required
• Electronic Medical Record: Epic
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Floating: May be required within the specialty, to lower-acuity assignments, and to affiliated facilities as needed

ICU Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Maryland or Compact Registered Nurse (RN) license
• At least 2 years of recent ICU or critical care nursing experience
• Strong experience caring for critically ill adult and geriatric patients
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification
• Experience managing a 1:2 critical care patient ratio
• Community hospital, trauma, or charge nurse experience preferred
• First-time travel nurses are welcome with strong critical care skills
• Comfort floating within scope and participating in scheduled weekend and holiday coverage

ICU Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in the intensive care unit
• Assess, monitor, and manage patients with complex and multisystem conditions
• Care for ventilated patients and manage BiPAP, CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, suctioning, and other respiratory support needs
• Administer and titrate cardiac, vasoactive, sedative, insulin, and other critical care infusions according to protocol
• Manage arterial lines, central lines, PICC lines, ports, chest tubes, and other invasive devices
• Interpret arterial blood gases, dysrhythmias, and 12-lead EKGs to support timely clinical decisions
• Provide care related to stroke, neurological monitoring, post-craniotomy recovery, renal failure, continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), and multisystem organ dysfunction
• Administer blood products, emergency medications, and procedural sedation as appropriate
• Collaborate with respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, IV services, physical therapy, phlebotomy, and social services
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in Epic
• Promote patient safety, infection prevention, and evidence-based critical care practices
