ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated ICU Registered Nurse to join a dynamic team. The position involves working night shifts and provides care to a diverse patient population across various age groups and medical conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) setting.
• Monitor and manage patients requiring advanced medical interventions, including the administration of pressors and sedation drugs.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Utilize critical thinking skills to assess patient conditions and respond appropriately to changes.
• Perform special procedures as required, including pronation therapy and management of ventilated patients.

Patient Population

The role involves caring for patients across various demographics, including:

• Adolescent (ages 15-17 when presenting adult-like symptoms)
• Adults
• The Geriatric population

Patient Diagnoses

Candidates should be skilled in managing a variety of patient conditions, including but not limited to:

• Medical and surgical ICUs
• Post-operative care for surgical procedures
• Cardiac conditions including myocardial infarction and chest pain
• Infections such as pneumonia and sepsis
• Acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS)
• Overdose management

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, CPI, NIH.
• Minimum of 2 years of ICU nursing experience is required.

Work Schedule

This position requires night shifts consisting of three 12-hour shifts per week. The schedule includes every other weekend and holiday coverage as assigned. Special scheduling requests will be considered upon application submission.

Additional Information

Floating to Intermediate Care Units (IMC) and Critical Care Services Units (CSU) may be required as needed within the specialty and for lower acuity cases.

On-call duties are not required; however, flexibility to pick up additional shifts may be requested based on unit staffing needs.
