Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) registered nursing position in Kansas City, Missouri. The role involves providing specialized care for post-cardiac procedural patients, managing complex medical conditions, and ensuring high-quality patient outcomes within a fast-paced environment. The nurse will work in a 29-bed cardiac telemetry unit that requires advanced clinical skills and a compassionate approach to patient care.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS). Minimum of 2 years of experience in Cardiac Telemetry or Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Experience with post-cardiac procedural care (Ablations, cardiac catheterizations, Post Op Day 1 Open Heart, permanent Pacemaker placements). Ability to read and interpret EKGs and telemetry strips. Skill in administering and titrating IV medications such as insulin, Cardizem, Cardene, and Amiodarone.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with IV insertions, NGT placement and maintenance, Chest Tube maintenance, Temporary Pacemakers, Foley insertions.
• Additional Information: The unit utilizes various monitoring and infusion equipment, including Alaris intravenous pumps, SCD machines, Hill Rom beds, dinamap monitors, Welch Allen Vital Machines, and telemetry monitors. The team practices patient-centered care, emphasizing courtesy, respect, and patient involvement in their care. Floating may be required to any area where competency has been demonstrated.
