Travel CCU/ICU RN 

Unit / Patient Population

• 24-bed CCU/ICU
• Typically 8–16 ICU patients + ~8 Stepdown patients daily
• Traveler must be comfortable taking both ICU and Stepdown assignments
• Ratios: 1:1–1:3
• Cerner EMR

Requirements

• 2+ years experience
• First-time travelers accepted
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, CPI
• Strong ICU experience with:
  • Ventilators & trachs
  • Titrating drips
  • CRRT
  • Balloon pumps
  • Swan-Ganz
  • Chest tubes
  • Tube feeds
  • DKA management

Patient Acuity / Procedures

• Ventilator-dependent critical care
• Sepsis
• ECMO
• CRRT
• Post-PCI/cardiac procedures
• Pulmonary embolism
• Post-thrombectomy & post-stroke patients
• Balloon pumps and invasive hemodynamic monitoring
• No open thoracic cases

Schedule

• Days: 6:45 AM–7:15 PM
• No more than every other weekend
• No call
• Holidays based on unit needs
• Block scheduling considered
• RTO requires manager approval

Floating

• Required to float within scope as needed
• May float to PCU, Med/Surg, and Tele

Equipment / Support

• Plum 360 IV pumps
• Omnicell
• Philips monitors
• CRRT, Arctic Sun, Balloon Pump, EKOS, Penumbra & pacers
• 24/7 Intensivist
• 24/7 dedicated RT
• On-site ICU midlevel providers
• Charge RN, CNA/PCA, phlebotomy, telemetry tech & HUC support

Orientation / Additional

• Facility orientation + 1–2 unit shifts
• Galaxy Blue scrubs
• Free parking
