Job Summary:
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) registered nurse position is based in Prescott, Arizona. This role involves providing specialized critical care to adult patients with complex neurological, cardiac, respiratory, and surgical conditions. The nurse will work in a fast-paced environment requiring advanced clinical skills, including interpretive abilities for electrocardiograms and ventilator management.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid license to practice as a registered nurse, ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) and BLS (Basic Life Support) certifications, and a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in an intensive care setting.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with IABP and Prismaflex CRRT, excellent EKG interpretation skills, ventilator weaning and troubleshooting experience, and familiarity with critical care drips such as pressors, sedatives, and anti-arrhythmics.
- Additional Information: The role requires the ability to work in all ICU areas, float to other units if necessary, and follow hospital protocols for patient care. Nurses should be capable of reading telemetry strips and troubleshooting ventilators and monitors. Self-scheduling is available with some flexibility. Shifts include four weekend shifts per pay period, with holiday work requirements. The unit operates with in-house intensivists 24/7 on the West campus and utilizes telemonitoring systems monitored by trained staff. Orientation includes hospital-wide training and unit-specific preceptorship, with additional skill checkoffs for advanced procedures such as open-heart surgery care or CRRT.
