Job Summary: The ICU (Intensive Care Unit) Registered Nurse position is located in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This role involves providing high-acuity care to critically ill patients with a diverse range of medical and surgical diagnoses. The position requires collaboration with a dedicated team and emphasizes clinical excellence in a teaching facility environment.
Job Details:
Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting on 08/17/2026.
Required Qualifications: Valid licensed Registered Nurse (RN) credential, ACLS (American Heart Association), BLS (American Heart Association), NIHSS (American Heart Association); at least 3 years of ICU experience.
Certifications Required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of ICU experience; no first-time travelers.
Unit Notes and Responsibilities: Provide care to patients with high-acuity conditions such as respiratory failure, ARDS, CHF, COPD, post STEMI, post arrest, post surgical, CABG, carotid, DKA, GI bleed, overdose, ETOH withdrawal, and CVA with or without TNK. Ability to titrate various drips including pressors, sedation, paralytics, insulin, heparin, etc.
Patient Ratios: Varying from 1:1 to 1:3 based on patient acuity.
Support and Equipment: RT support 24/7 with ventilator, BiPAP, HiFlow Nasal Cannula; nurses responsible for EKG monitoring and interpretation.
Additional Clinical Expectations: The nurse will draw labs and perform EKGs independently, and coordinate patient care accordingly.
Floating Requirements: First to float, expected to manage a patient team of up to 5 patients.
Orientation: Two shifts: classroom/unit orientation and preceptor-led unit shift, with scheduling communicated on Day 1.
Weekend and Holiday Requirements: At least 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week schedule; holidays worked at management discretion without ability for holiday RTO.
Dress Code: Scrubs in black; facility-specific orientation scheduled for 0700-1900.
Additional Notes: The ICU is on the 4th floor; support services such as VAD team and lab draw support are available. The unit is a high-acuity teaching environment emphasizing professionalism and collaboration.
Submission Requirements: Valid license, 2 supervisor references (charge nurse references do not count), and note if the clinician has worked in this facility previously.
