Job Summary
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) Nights This ICU RN position is based in a teaching healthcare facility and requires a highly skilled professional with a minimum of three years of ICU experience. The role involves providing care for high acuity patients with a diverse range of diagnoses, including respiratory failure, ARDS, CHF, COPD, post-STEMI, post arrest, post surgical, and other critical conditions. The ICU team operates 24/7, and the nurse will be responsible for utilizing advanced ventilator equipment, titrating drips, and performing EKGs in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Job Details

• Position Type: Registered Nurse (RN) ICU
• Location: Healthcare facility (general)
• Certifications Required: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS American Heart Association
• Education and Experience: Minimum of 3 years of ICU experience required; current RN license required; experience with EPIC electronic medical record system within the last year preferred.
• Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Additional Information:
  • Must have a valid drivers license at the time of submission.
  • All submissions require date of birth and SSN.
  • Must have one supervisor reference from the most recent or current assignment; charge nurse or technician references are not accepted.
  • Experience performing titration of drips such as pressors, sedation, paralytics, insulin, and heparin.
  • Must be able to work weekends, with a minimum of 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week schedule.
  • No trauma or hemorrhagic stroke cases; exceptions include first-time ICU travelers who are competent with included procedures.
  • Must complete two days of orientation, including classroom and on-unit training.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required.
  • The ICU has a dedicated team of intensivists and respiratory therapists available 24/7, and performs advanced procedures such as PICC placement and difficult IVs during weekday hours.
  • Responsibilities include drawing labs, interpreting EKGs, and managing ventilator and infusion equipment.
  • No call or standby requirements.
