Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit Medical in a Level III Trauma Center. This position involves providing care for adult patients with complex diagnoses such as substance overdose, severe psychiatric conditions, diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), sepsis, gastrointestinal bleeding, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, renal failure, and cardiogenic shock. The role requires floating across medical and surgical units, with a focus on adult intensive care. Candidates must have proven experience in adult ICU settings and be proficient in telemetry.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Rotating shifts with all day positions scheduled typically from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM, or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM; night shifts do not rotate.
• Required Qualifications: Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license, American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS), and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification; two or more years of continuous adult ICU experience, preferably in a Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU); at least 2 years of experience in the same location; telemetry competency.
• Preferred Qualifications: None specified.
• Float: Float: Float rotation may be required, mostly across medical and surgical units, with patient loads up to 4 or 5.
• Additional Information: The unit is a 20-bed Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Unit (ICU) caring for adult patients with various critical conditions. The facility employs electronic medical records (EMR) using EPIC. The role involves working with attending physicians and residents in a fast-paced environment.
