Job Summary:
The ICU (Intensive Care Unit) Registered Nurse (RN) position is based in Madison, Wisconsin. The role involves providing specialized patient care across multiple critical care settings, including neuro ICU, cardiac ICU, burn ICU, and trauma units. The nurse will operate within a Magnet-certified hospital and Level 1 Trauma Center, supporting adult and geriatric populations with a focus on high-acuity patient management.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license, BLS (American Heart Association), and ACLS (American Heart Association). Experience with multiple ICU specialties, including neuro ICU, cardiovascular ICU, burn ICU, trauma, and IMC (Intermediate Care). Ability to pass Telemetry test prior to start. Two years of recent acute care RN experience in the specialty preferred.
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale), TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- Preferred Qualifications: Previous charge nurse experience, patient ratio experience, charting system experience (Epic), ICU experience with adult populations, Basic Arrhythmia experience, telemetry interpretation skills.
- Additional Information: This position requires competency in various ICU specialties, including arterial line management, ventilator management, emergency medications, and advanced cardiovascular care procedures. The candidate must pass a telemetry assessment with strict criteria and have at least two years of recent inpatient acute care experience in the relevant ICU specialty. The assignment involves floating to various ICU units as needed, including neuro, CV/CT, burn, trauma, MSICU, and IMC. Orientation hours are provided to support onboarding.
